inkexchangeSo today, the book I’m reading is Ink Exchange by Melissa Marr.

Her eyes had dilated ever so slightly when her fears rose and faded. Later tonight, when she thought of him, she’d think he was just an odd man, memorable for that alone. It would be awhile until her mind would let her process the extent of her changing body. Mortals had so many mental defenses to make sense of the things that violated their preconceptions and rules. At times those defenses were quite useful to him.

When I first flipped to page 56, I was a little worried I couldn’t find something intriguing to post. But there you are! Keep your eyes open for my thoughts soon!

What do you think?

  • Anne says:

Is her growing body mean she growing wings? What place in the series is this book. It isn’t 1st is it?

    • Michelle Michelle says:

Nope, it’s the second. It doesn’t directly follow the first though in that it follows a new main character in the same world. Though, it’s been years since I’ve read the first so I’m pretty confused about a lot of the events in this one…oops! And she’s undergoing different types of fairy changes. 😛

  • This is definitely intriguing! I love the description in the F56 because people definitely, immediately rationalize whatever strange experience they had! I guess it’s what makes children more open to their imagination because they don’t have as many ready explanations for everything! Thanks for sharing :) I hope you have a great weekend!

  • I like the mental image the excerpt paints. This probably isn’t a book that would appeal to me but I’ll have to keep it in mind for a recommendation. Thanks for sharing!

  • Freda Mans says:

Him, as in, the devil?! Good one!

    Happy weekend!

  • Interesting cover. Looks like she is changing.

  • Between the cover and the tease, you have me curious.

  • How intriguing! I wonder if she’s a faerie or angel (as corresponding with the cover). Love the voice in this excerpt as well. Great post. :)
