Love-A-Thon Challenge #3: Mad Lib

Mini-Challenge #3: Mad Lib

For this challenge, we have been given a story where we need to fill in the blanks with a certain type of word. I’m all about easy challenges! My technique with this challenge is to devote almost zero brain cells to it. I’m going to fill in the blanks with the first word that fits that type that comes up on the random television shows I’m watching. Maybe randomness will create some level of humor that might otherwise be lacking? Let’s hope!

One day, I was WORRYING with JAMIE. Out of the blue, a KID came out of nowhere! It was so HUGE, PRECIOUS and COMFORTABLE. At first, we were afraid, we were petrified, but we ROLLED. We hopped on A TRUCK to make our getaway.

As we escaped, we turned up the radio because THE STORY OF MY LIFE came on and made me CASCADING. Everything was extremely smooth sailing until a DOG appeared in the middle of the road.

We swerved to avoid it, but while JAMIE stayed in the CAR, I got thrown onto my side in the woods.

I couldn’t get up, and felt INSANE as I lay there staring up at the trees. What was I going to do? I heard a BUMPING among the leaves, and felt TIRED. Surely, this was going to be my end. As my eyes fluttered shut, the last thing I saw was a head of RED hair and RED eyes.

When I woke up again, I was on a BED. My body hurt a whole lot less, and I could sit up. There was a GUN and GANGSTER in the room, along with PRETZELS and SUGAR WATER. The door suddenly opened to reveal KAIDAN, a concerned look on his face. I blushed and averted my gaze, but he WENT and said, “Don’t be shy. It’s okay.”

He came over to sit by me, and we started talking after I told him my name. We chatted about HISTORY, FOOTBALL, and EATING and realized we had a ton in common! I thought he was BIGGER and couldn’t help feeling a little swoony.

Just as he reached out for my hand, the door crashed open and in came ERIC. “Don’t let him charm you away, my love!” He yelled, running at KAIDAN. They each had SPOONS in their hands and began to fight. “Stop!”, I yelled, feeling so EXCITED. They didn’t listen to me. Before I could intervene, KAIDAN fell to the floor and disappeared in a cloud of smoke.

“What was that?” I asked, staring at the empty space. ERIC dropped his weapon, and came over to me. “Magic, but you are safe now, SWEETNESS.” He hugged me close, and I suddenly knew that this was the real deal and not just a dream.

Just as BEAUTY & THE BEAST started playing in my head, I woke up. I cursed my INNOVATIVE luck. Why had it only been just a dream?

Whew! That was harder than I was expected! Sorry for its ridiculousness.

What do you think?

  • Kelly says:

Haha I think Mad Libs only work because of their ridiculousness! Who were your book boyfriends? I didn’t recognize any of them.

    • Michelle Michelle says:

Thanks! Yeah, I thought that it’s not quite Mad Libs if you’re picking words specifically for their place in a story. Jamie is from Outlander (seriously, I need to read something else to have a new book boyfriend), Kaidan is from Sweet Evil (and some day I’ll read the sequel that is already out and the the conclusion that is coming out), and Eric is from the Southern Vampire/True Bloog series (one of Sookie’s vampire boyfriends). Because who can say no to a Scottish highlander, son of the Duke of Lust, or a Viking warrior? 😛

  • Alexa S. says:

THE STORY OF MY LIFE – I adore that song! And Beauty and the Beast as well. My men fought with spoons too, so that’s awesome 😉

  • Jamie = Outlander Jamie? 😀 I’d love to hear him talk with his sexy accent! The guy who is playing him in the TV show is exactly how I imagined him. Beauty & the beast playing in your head, that’s an awesome pick!

    • Michelle Michelle says:

Oo I haven’t been catching much of the TV show buzz for Outlander, but I’m definitely curious to see how it turns out. I can only hope well, because if it’s done well it’d be soo good!
